yesterday was unlike any other monday i've ever experienced. i prefer it that way. From 9am-9pm doug sanders took me on a crash course through homelessness in nashville. i met a lot of different kinds of people, from those seeking out ways to get involved in helping the homeless in nashville, to the police commander of the central precinct. i am incredibly inspired by doug, jeannie, and others who know the homeless individuals by name, sleep on the streets with them, find employment opportunities for those looking, and washing countless feet, both literally and figuratively. i felt closer to where i want to be in the company of these faithful, determined world-changers. their challenges are plenty, and their passion is abundant...this day is another small step in the continued journey of discovering out what i should do. what i want to do. what i am created to do.

i was uber excited to get these prints back. full of anticipation and nerves, i was delighted to find how well hanna and william's engagement photos had turned out! all the hard work and preparation was worth it! film photography is such a thrill ride.

hanna and william have been 2 of my dearest friends for almost seven years. i went to college with both of them and was honored to be asked to take their engagement photos. we went around nashville with black & white film - bicenntial park, farmer's market, sevier park and our back yard. we had a lot of fun AND it didn't rain!

i am proud to be a part of africa at the icon! a group of us from ellie's run from africa have been working very hard the past couple of months to put this event together. if you are in nashville on this night, please come join us!

after a week of snow angels, big-star skies on the hopi reservation and precious time spent with dear family and friends, i have hit the ground running back in nashville. my hard work (photography and otherwise) will hopefully pay off in the weeks and months to come. i am excited to continue sharing these small accomplishments and victories with you, my fellow dreamers.
